Finding the courage to make a change.

A small blog trying to make a big difference

"It is a space for people and about people. Some of it will be easy to read and, if I do my job right, some of it will not. As much as anything it is important that I educate myself and share it with others trying to do the same."

The world according to Annabelle is the beginning of a creative endeavour that I have been trying to pluck up the courage to start for a while now. An ancient Chinese philosopher wisely noted that a journey of a thousand miles must begin as a single step. I guess this is my first step.

It is a space for people and about people. Some of it will be easy to read and, if I do my job right, some of it will not. As much as anything it is important that I educate myself and share it with others trying to do the same. I am a firm believer in the notion that where there is a difference to be made, you should take the baton and you should run as hard and as fast as you can until it is time to pass it on to the next person.

Writing about the issues that people face is not always conducive to bringing about change. However, it is also true that drawing attention to largely unrealised issues is hugely important in invoking change in today’s social climate. I encourage anyone to whom the posts on this blog resonate with to engage with the content and please get in touch. Let’s contribute to an important conversation.

I hope to spend my life studying and documenting the status of populations across the globe in an attempt to bring about positive change. I want to bring attention to communities that need it. I want to write about people, and I want to write for people. I want to learn from people. I want to photograph people. I want to engage with people. I want to make a difference to people.

For months I have been discussing and thinking and dreaming about creating a blog. So here it is in its absolute infancy. If you’re still reading this short intro then maybe I’m just about doing something right.

Please read, engage and share.
